In January 2024, WaterPlantir attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and was selected, one of ten, to receive the greenmatters greenlight award.

Municipalities and government agencies are interested in adding more rental units but that usually adds cost to the infrastructure. In urban areas the Waterplantir system can be utilized to reduce the strain and dependency on infrastructure that may not have the capacity to expand.

The system works in flood-prone and areas subject to climate change. Since it's an above ground system, until the flood water exceeds the top of the water planter, the system will continue to function. Water saturation and groundwater contamination are negated because it's a completely enclosed system.
